Fred Hess

Dr Hess is a metallurgical graduate of the University of Queensland and the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre. In a career spanning over forty years Dr. Hess has extensive industry experience in both mining project development (including exploration, project studies and construction) and operations (including open pit and underground in copper, gold, nickel and coal).

Dr. Hess has also worked extensively in Australia, New Zealand, Asia (Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea), South America (Chile and Brazil) and southern Africa for companies including Bougainville Copper Limited, WMC Limited, Birla Mount Gordon Pty Ltd, OceanaGold Limited, and finally PanAust Limited where he was Managing Director for five years. Dr Hess currently also holds directorships with Aeon Metals and Skylark Minerals.
