JK Drop Weight Tester
Developed by JKMRC, and now a global industry standard, the JK Drop Weight Tester is a reliable tool for measuring impact breakage parameters for use in modelling and simulation using JKSimMet.
The JK Drop Weight Tester is the authorised specialist equipment required to conduct the JK Drop Weight Test, SMC Test® and the Integrated JK Drop Weight/SMC Test. All three tests are both proven global industry standards for ore breakage characterisation.
The JK Drop Weight Test provides ore specific breakage parameters which are used in the JKSimMet Mineral Processing Simulator software to design comminution circuits and analyse and/or predict AG/SAG mill performance. The same test procedure also provides ore type characterisation for the JKSimMet crusher model.
The device is enclosed in perspex and incorporates a variety of features to ensure operator safety. By varying the height from which the drop weight is released and the mass of the drop weight, a wide range of energy inputs can be generated.
JK Gas Hold-Up Probe
JKTech provides a simple means to measure the amount of air contained in your flotation cell for optimum gas utilisation
Gas hold-up is the volume fraction of air contained within the pulp phase of the flotation cell. Generally increasing the gas content within the cell results in more bubbles per unit volume and hence more available surface area for particle-bubble interactions to occur, producing improved kinetics in the pulp phase. However, there is a maximum value of gas hold-up before the cell capacity is limited, resulting in reduced residence time.
JK Batch Flotation Cell
JKTech is at the forefront of flotation characterisation - the value delivered by our JK Batch Flotation Cell is just one example.
The JK Batch Flotation Cell is a bottom-driven cell that provides accurate, reliable and reproducible results for laboratory flotation tests. The JK Batch Flotation Cell is the authorised specialist equipment to conduct the JK Floatability Index test, enabling prediction of full-scale flotation performance based on laboratory-scale flotation tests, as well as assessing different operating conditions, process flowsheets and reagent schemes.
The JK Batch Flotation Cell is used as part of the standard flotation optimisation methodology for existing plants, where samples of streams are collected from the plant and floated almost immediately in a laboratory batch flotation cell. This allows the floatability of the various streams to be determined throughout the circuit and aids in the understanding of the fast, slow and non-floating material characteristics within the flotation process.
Standard reagent and other ore characterisation tests can also be conducted using the JK Batch Flotation Cell to give results that you can depend on.
Anglo Platinum Bubble Sizer
JKTech provides robust tools to better understand the gas dispersion characteristics within your flotation cells
The Anglo Platinum Bubble Sizer is a portable device to measure both the bubble size distributions and the superficial gas velocity Jg directly within a flotation cell. With the mean bubble size db and Jg the bubble surface area flux Sb can be calculated: Sb = 6Jg/db
The superficial gas velocity Jg is defined as the amount of air passing through a flotation cell per cross-sectional area per unit time and is a direct measurement of air flow rate. The Anglo Platinum Bubble Sizer can be used to calculate Jg by measuring the time taken t to displace a known volume of water (distance between two marks L) by air bubbles in the perpex tube above the viewing chamber. Jg = L/t
JK Samplers
JKTech understands that effective sampling is the key to accurate characterisation and successful modelling and simulation
JKTech’s range of slurry samplers enables easy and representative sampling of industrial scale flotation cells and slurry streams for the purposes of comprehensive plant surveys or simple circuit analysis.
- The JK Dip Sampler can be extended up to a length of 3 metres to sample inside even the largest of industrial scale flotation cells. Sample containers of 1L and 2L can be accommodated.
- The JK Stream Cutter can be supplied in various sizes and handle lengths to facilitate easy and safe sampling of open slurry streams.
- The JK Lip Sampler captures flotation cell overflow from the lip of flotation cells.
