Matt Weier
Matt graduated from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chemistry). While studying at QUT Matt worked as a research assistant focussed on mineral characterisation, predominately using spectroscopic techniques along with XRD and electron microscopy.
Matt's initial industry experience was in NATA accredited analytical testing laboratory related to the electrical distribution industry. Matt joined JKTech in 2011, and after a period as metallurgical technician, became a comminution analyst focused on the JK Drop Weight (JKDW) and SMC Tests. In this role Matt works with a network of licensed laboratories worldwide in the provision, analysis and quality control of these tests. Since these tests were introduced, they have become industry standards with over 5000 JKDW Tests, and over 50,000 SMC Tests performed. Matt is also responsible for the regular JKTech Comparative Testing (ask Round Robin) programs which are industry leaders in terms of quality control and test method characterisation.
