Day One

The first day of this workshop provides a practical introduction to strategic geometallurgy and its role in improving decision-making across the mining value chain. It’s designed for professionals looking to understand how ore characterisation can support better planning, processing, and performance.

Participants will:

  • Gain an overview of the JKTech geometallurgy methodology, developed through the AMIRA P843 global research collaboration
  • Learn where and how to start building a geometallurgical program
  • Identify common challenges and practical ways to avoid them
  • Learn the fundamentals of ore characterisation, as well as observe comminution tests in progress.

 

Day Two

The second day focuses on specific techniques used in geometallurgy programmes and model development.

Participants will:

  • Gain insight into developing comminution and flotation test work programmes
  • Learn the fundamentals of regression model development
  • Review case examples of how geometallurgical insights have improved operational outcomes
